Principal’s words

Developing one’s humanity

Lycée International Xavier (LIX) was established in 2002 with the purpose of educating students to become broadminded and big-hearted who can meet the needs of a multicultural world.

Jérôme Pinot

Principal

Being located next to Bukhansan National Park, 15 minutes from the center of Seoul, students benefit from an exceptional calm and pleasant environment, in spacious and harmonious premises, conducive to studying and well-being.

We welcome students from all over the world, who come to follow the French curriculum, leading to the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) at the end of grade 9 and the Baccalauréat in high school, after which they have the prospect of going to universities in France, Korea or other countries abroad.

Our school, founded by the Saint-François-Xavier community, is part of the Daniélou affiliated educational association, which is based on an educational tradition more than a century old. Affiliated with Mission Laïque Française (MLF), an organization for French schools located outside of France and a member of Agence pour l’Enseignement Français à l’Étranger (AEFE) since 2012, LIX also has partnerships with other schools in France, Korea and many other countries.

With the Korean community of SFX residing at LIX, the entire faculty guides students individually in small classes. As an African proverb, "To educate a child, you need a village" shows, LIX is more than a school. It is a place to live, work, relax, and accomplish one’s work. It is always open to the world.

We have high expectations for our students so we fully support their studies. While following the official French programs, we do not hesitate to go beyond when it’s beneficial. Combining the school curriculum with a moral education, we strive to discover in each student "one’s own creative momentum", in order to train them:

to develop one’s personal mind and be able to have a sense of responsibility for the good of everyone in all the circumstances.
to be open to others and willing to understand and cooperate with them through their developed knowledge of languages and cultures.

We hope that your children will help others develop their morality through our education.
